It’s always fun to see how shady the government can be.  I mean dumping over a TRILLION in taxpayer dollars to dying banks that really need to die. That’s a trillion. That looks something like this: 1,000,000,000,000 How does that make you feel? that’s so much motherfucking money and it’s gone now. As if we didn’t already need it bad enough after spending so much in Iraq.

Paulson decided to dish out this money and make NO REQUIREMENTS, or of the requirements that are there, NOT APPOINT anyone to oversee them.

That to me, seems quite criminal. In an article in The Nation, it seems like at least Naomi Klein would agree.

It is interesting to see how much everyone tries to keep Wall Street alive. I worked down there, trust me, those people really need a reality check, so I’m all for a sweeping reform that would make them act like normal people. Struggling to afford an $11 sandwich like everyone else who has been laid off.

With all this talk about Free-Market Capitalism, why are those same people encouraging this kind of bailout? In a free market, if they die, they die. In a free market, they wouldn’t have been able to develop the monopoly they have, so it’s safe to say that the “free market” theory they live by is bullshit.

When you look at the original theory of capitalism, there is no role of government lobbying, financial bailouts, tax cuts, etc.

Perhaps the true revolution would be to actually embrace capitalism and let these banks fall WITHOUT sucking up our money first. You can spout all the bullshit about how much we need them, but most of us aren’t falling for it.

That 1,000,000,000,000 could have payed unemployment wages for millions of people that lose their jobs thanks to what the banks have done. It could have more than paid for a universal healthcare program. It could have been spent on US Infrastructure that would have created hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Imagine if a president said we were going to spend $700 BILLION on anything else. Education? Healthcare? There would be outrage from the same individuals who have been lining up for this bailout.

It’s great to see how greed is rewarded in this fucked up nation of ours, isn’t it?

Perhaps the revolution will indeed come and I for one will certainly be on the front lines.
